A thriving environment for all
I’m Jaclyn Torres Roth and I’m running for Medford City Council. As an outdoor enthusiast, I spend much of my time exploring our environment. Through hikes in the Middlesex Fells Reservation and nature walks along the Mystic Valley State Reservation, I see how climate change impacts our community. Our roads and sidewalks are worn down. Our city buildings are inadequate. Our railways are inaccessible to many and in much need of repair. Our bus system is infrequent and time-consuming. As a homeowner in Medford and previous tenant across the Greater Boston area, I understand the rising real estate costs within the city. Our community needs more affordable housing. We need updated zoning laws to expand multifamily and mixed-use development. We must establish an Office of Housing Stability to provide more housing education and resources to residents. I’m running for Medford City Council because I’m a natural born leader committed to creating a thriving environment for all!
Jaclyn’s Priorities
I’m focused on building belonging in our community. That starts with equitable access to city resources, housing, and public transit. That is done by improving union and labor workers salaries and benefits. That includes uplifting minority voices. This is how we create a thriving environment for all.
